Its been a wet few weeks here in southern Indiana. A few weeks back we had some serious flooding. I, of course, went out on some back roads near a Corps of Engineers project to explore!

I crossed flooded roads about a dozen times. Of course, the one time I went deeper than I was comfortable to I got to a point in the road that I had to turn back and do it again. I was above the door sills (I know because I had to shut the doors) but I got no water in the cab. I was too far in to turn around but it made it through without a fit. Thank god for the diff breather mod.

I wish I had more pictures but I was by myself so getting action shots was impossible.

    This should be a cornfield...

I saw this scene a lot that day:

I hit an area I know is always muddy to try out my Cooper AT3s in the soft stuff. Wish I had some pics of that. Not fun to clean the truck though. I hate mud usually but I needed to test my capabilities in it

The hill I am going down in the next pic is one I spun on with the stock dunlops when it was dry. 245 dunflops to 265/75 AT3s=happy guy :D I had zero issues in the climb. [IMG]

Testing the flex with the new shoes. 265s fill the wheel wells so nicely on a truck with a stock suspension.

Finally, I did take a vid with my iPhone during one kind of long but fairly mundane water crossing. All of these crossing I at least had a gravel underneath me so traction was a non-issue.

So please forgive my noob-ness but I just got my first truck and have gotten pretty paranoid about getting water in my diffs. Ive seen the threads about doing the diff breather mod but everyone seems to do it only on the rear diff... Does anyone know if you should do it to the front diff too? (I have a 4x4)

just a few....i actually flooded half my car this past weekend. It took 2 full sized diesel's to pull me out, and my interior was slightly fucked..lol. Couldnt get any photos though. My phone was submerged as well :/ But in the end, guess what?..the truck lives!! haha all i needed was to shampoo the inside :)

Long story short, last December I was home for he holidays in Maine and went out on the trails/ponds. Went out on the pond right after a fresh snowfall that night, which I knew was a no-no because you can't see the warm springs.. So my dumb ass drove over the warm spring. Ended up taking a real cold swim and a real long run back through the woods after said cold swim.

    Tadaaa.. sucked.

That's crazy man! Happy to hear you made it back without freezing to death. Is the truck a total loss?

Luckily everything was covered and I was able to get into a new Taco. My whole back seat was filled with Christmas presents for my family too... THAT sucked. I was able to salvage most of it, and believe it or not, my renter's policy covered everything else. I got lucky for sure.
