    Hey Guys,

I'm currently driving a Mazda 3 and will be looking to get myself into a new or used Tacoma sometime this spring/summer. I signed up here to try to learn everything I can about the truck before making the big decision to buy one.

Any and all advice you guys have got for me is welcome :)

Don't mind me while I poke around a bit and thanks in advance!

    Rocky

I have only had mine for 2 weeks but I love it. My advice would be to buy what YOU want. Be patient and find the right truck. Don't settle for less than what you want. The hell with the salesman, your girlfriend or anybody else, if you want a double cab buy it. Don't settle for an Access cab or vice a versa, buy the short bed if that is what YOU want. Buy the red one if it's the color you like. It's worth the wait to find the right truck for you. I spent weeks looking for the truck that I wanted and I don't regret it one bit.

    Thanks everybody!

Scott, that's great advice. I'm definitely going to make this decision for myself.

As far as what I'm looking for:

Double cab is a must, I've got two dogs and refuse to put them in the box. I don't intend on doing a whole lot of off-road stuff, so TRD Sport should be plenty. I'd love the 6 speed manual, which (I think) locks me into a short box -- which is fine, I like the look of the short box a little more and you've still got plenty of versatility.

Colour is the most difficult decision that I'm having thus far.. my current car is black, which I absolutely love, but I think I'd like to go in a different direction. When I bought my Mazda I had it narrowed down to Black and White; every time I see a white one, I wonder what could have been haha.. so White is near the top of my list for the Tacoma along with Grey and Red
