    Your verbage implied that all snatch-type accessories are only ropes.

    Yes, the flat strap style have a limited number of pulls (rated per the manufacturer) but they still serve a purpose. You're flat out ruling them out.

    If it's by personal preference, cool I get it.

    But don't write them off as if they're completely useless.

    I would think as bed gaps are notorious to be off from the plant.
    But... let's play a game alright?
    Let's say the pull bent your frame to close the bed gap by 3/10's. Let's assume that the pull happened five feet (60") back from your bed gap.
    This would give me a triangle with an x axis of 60 and a y axis of .3. Let's solve a triangle!
    The answer is around 2.5/10th's of one degree of bent frame.
    Now, lets figure out what that would do to the truck... Pretty much the only thing it could do is maybe scrub the tires, so let's calculate that!
    The contact patch for your tire is about 7.5" long and 8.3" wide, so let's apply that angle to that contact patch distance.
    Contact patch will be skewed three hundredth's of an inch lol.

    I am going with no frame damage and just a different bed gap!

    Sorry for bad verbiage. I’ve seen a lot of broken and bent equipment from snatch straps. We stopped using them once kinetic ropes became a thing.

    No worries!

    Like I said, if it's out of personal preference then I understand. We should all respect that some of us like using certain tools whereas others don't.

    I have an ARB snatch strap (flat style) that I bought when I had my Tacoma.

    Used it twice with my Tacoma and twice with my 4Runner now so I'm sure I only have 2 more pulls with it.

    Not bad considering I've had it for 3 years and keep it safe from moisture, etc.

    You also made me dig more into snatch strap vs. kinetic ropes. I assumed incorrectly that they were the same. I now have a kinetic rope on the way as well as my ARB snatch strap that I currently own.

    Tire chains do help. I just use emergency strap chains. Two sets on the rear and go.

    Too many trucks and mods to list.. check builds
    The frames on the 3rd gens are really hard to bend too. Actually harder than 1st gens since the 3rd gen frame can actually flex unlike the 1st gen boxes frames


    (I bought the truck like this lol, original owners fine)

    I see what youre saying with that assuming the position of the bed were to represent the position of the frame. but dismissing that I'm just speculating the frame could have done this type of deformation in the area encircled in the red box aft of the rear cab mounts and fore of the rigid "X" brace doing a rhombus-like shift:
