I've had the front end creaking problem for about a year now. I've tried silicone, grease, and wd40. Had the dealership look at to no avail. So now I've put electrical on both the rubber stop and where the stop makes contact. For now it has stopped the noise. You have to do both the rubber stop and the contact point or it will continue to make noise. Doesn't look great, but it's under the hood and it doesn't make that terrible creaking noise anymore.

Yes. This solved the creaking issue for me. The tape will eventually wear down, or come off. It last quite a while though. I just recently noticed an occasional creaking. Tape was starting to slide and wear. Just replaced the tape.

I to have had this issue 2012, I just keep the finest areas greased and that solves the issue for me.

I started having this problem but twisted in the rubber stops farther and made sure they were equal and no more squeaking!
