Many virus’ today are embedded and aren’t inherently malicious to the host. They are designed to remain hidden. Most common virus’ we’ve been tracking are bitcoin miners and bots. Essentially, your PC is mining for someone else and have no idea. The Russians do a lot of bitcoin mining.

    True story:
Personal electronic devices like GPS and devices with drivers are being purchased and then a hacker at home uploads a virus and application that mimics the device installation.

They return the device to the store and its resold open box or is repackaged and resold.

New consumer buys the device, plugs it in and virus is loaded without them knowing. There PC is now mining for bitcoin and all they did was buy a GPS from Best Buy that was previously returned.

The tunes and the downloads should be hashed.

Did you have your ecu flashed with new tranny software? The 16s are notorious for this and I was having shitty shifting and sluggish behavior then took it in for the flash and it’s much better now

might also check to see if your VIN was part of the CPS recall. Also do a search on this ("CPS Recall"). Mine was part of the recall but many manufactured during same time frame were not. If not part of the recall the part is not too expensive and is easy to replace - could be worth doing if they say you are not on recall list. GL.

Alright. So the dealership updated the ECM (PCM). The code was TC1601.
