Well for a while I have been debating getting the lid to my OEM box coated to match everything else but did not really think it would change the look of the truck that much. After getting harassed (JK) by Hodge for even having the box I decided what the hell and dropped it off yesterday at 5 PM and picked it us this afternoon at 4 PM and got it all put back together. Overall I am glad that I went ahead and got it done. Now all I have to do is get the chrome bumper coated then I will be chrome free! For all you guys wanting to trade bumpers off a sport I would look into just getting the one you have coated. I was supprised at how cost efficient powder coating can be. I included a pic of the box before it was coated also.

nice, i am deciding wether or not to Powder coat my entire tool box. The only question that concerns me is durabiltiy. Honestly, how long will it last before that starts to peel. 5+ years I would deff do it but if its only going to last less than that Im not going to do it. How long do you think?

Well from all my research you can expect your truck to be missing all its paint before you will have any issues with the powder coating. That is why I had it powder coated instead of just painting it. The process is that the box will be sand blasted then cleaned and charged with electricity and coated in powder then cooked for three hours at 500 degrees. I expect it to last!

No problem, look around for shops though. This is a very competitive market. Most places should do an entire box for less than $150. I got my lid done for $75 so just shop around.
