I like the look of my TRDOR wheels when I put vinyl on them but do not think the vinyl will last. So now I want to get them powder coated and have a few questions.

Every place that I call tells me that I need to bring in just the rims. I use my truck as a daily driver and do not have an extra set of wheels and/or tires to use while my are getting coated.

Anyone want to rent me some wheels and tires for a little bit? Any suggestions on this and recommendations on a powder coating service?

Use your spare and have one wheel at a time done.

You not only have to remove the tires and center caps, but the stems/TPMS and weights will have to come out too.

So include the cost of dismount/remount and balancing in your project. ~$20-25 per wheel.

Personally, since it's just black, I'd wait till the vinyl fails and paint them at home with quality spray paint. Lots simpler, cheaper, easy to touch up if required. Like you know, from off road rash.

Wheels of America is legit and will have your wheels back to you in 24hrs. They will also dismount/Mount the tire.

135 a wheel. I just had a 22x12 American force wheel fixed and re powdered and they did unbelievably good work.

$135 wheel just for powder coating? If so, that’s ridiculously high. ~$50 is the going rate and ~$75 is on the high side.

I've been getting $80 per wheel quotes.

I've thought about buying a set of "take offs" and either reselling them, or keep one as a spare and selling the others.

Even without doing that, it might be cheaper or the same price just buying a set of aftermarket black wheels.
