My '17 Tacoma is a Quicksand. I've always wanted a sorta-military look for the wheels. Like the Black Rhino Armory...

But at +/-$185 a wheel I wasn't going to do it.

Plus, I'm going super skinny with Cooper Discovery AT3-LT 235/85/16. The narrowest black rhino wheel is 9.5". I think a little wide for the skinny's. So sticking to the stock makes sense. The shop down the street from my house is the local powder coating business, so I hired them to paint the stocker's.

The closest color match to Quicksand from Prismatic Powders is Thatch Brown...

So here we go, Step One: get 'em painted:

Came out GREAT! $80 a wheel. Step Two: get 'em mounted...

I like how the sidewall lugs on the tires mesh together with the wheel design - very sharp!

That looks fantastic! I've been scouring for weeks for good aftermarket wheels, and none seem to look as fitting as the stock OR wheels. If they were 0 offset I'd do the same and powdercoat them in a heartbeat.

Like it! The wheels match well with the body color.

    Those look really nice!

I want to do this with 16 hole FJ steelies (color matched powder coat and skinny 33s), but those wheels are getting hard to find for a decent price. With all the Pro wheels I see in the B/S/T section here, that is starting to look like a second option.

Absolutely! I wanted to get the steelies painted too! Then I looked at the TPMS situation, the weight, the cost and the availability and thought, what the hell, sticking with the stock rims are by far the best bang for the buck.

Looking for a single stock wheel for the spare...
