I am doubting this is a very popular option because I rarely see any trucks equipped with one on here.
    Does anybody have it?

What do you do for maintenance, any special lubrication/grease to keep it in good condition up/down

there might be another topic thread around for this but my search query yielded no results that jumped out

was there a certain year they were phased out or has there always been an option for it?

I have it on my 95.5 SR5 model which was relabeled as the Limited model in 1998. I believe they are the only ones with the option. I just replaced my whole mast assembly a few weeks ago. The plastic cable tends to break. I'd probably just lube the antenna assembly myself and keep running it. I also wired it to a switch so I can put it down if I'm offroad or using bluetooth.

Messing with the cable housing and motor under the fender is kind of a PITA unless you need to replace that cable assembly.

... have a little stubby the past couple of days when the weather got colder, it has been doing this haphazardly over the years, but usually has been from ice buildup as far as i know
took about a dozen times to get it to fully retract turning this morning with radio off on off on repeatedly
perhaps the mast is slightly bent :notsure:
occasionally i do not have the garage door up far enough and catch it on the top backing out or going in over the decades which may have put wear and tear onit

was thinking of putting some imported Nut-Z lube on it like i did my garage door that was sticking in the rails

maybe that is not such a good idea for the antenna and the housing it goes into behind the fender, i really have no clue!
