I'm getting ready to install a Directed DB3 remote start on my 2016 TRD-S. In the hookup diagram, they have you tap the power to the DB3 from the 12v connection at the bottom of the Main body ECU.

Does anyone see a problem if I want to tap my power from the OBDII connection pin 16 instead? I mean hell, I'm already hooking in 2 wires to that connector anyway.

    TIA

They probably want a 12v source that is always powered (even with ignition OFF) where I believe the OBDII connected would only be powered with truck on.
