19 TRD Pro here. No power seats. I had it on my last vehicle, and what made it really convenient was how I could hit one button to adjust it back to how want it after someone else drives it. I think having the ability to adjust the seat a few different ways during long drives was really helpful too.

I don’t mind not having one on the taco, though!!

The commenter claims he works for the supplier that makes the Tacoma seats and says his company will start production of the new power seats this upcoming year. Therefore, it is obviously NOT available on the already-built Tacomas.

I wouldn't be surprised. Toyota is facing the heat. Colorado, Ranger, and now the Gladiator. Soon enough, an all-new Frontier and the return of a Mazda truck. I bet that mid-cycle refresh will happen sooner rather than later and it will be more extensive than usual. I expect ENTUNE 3.0, power driver's seat, and maybe even rear disc brakes. Stay tuned.

I mean, if you're gonna play the rumor game, go big or go home.

The 2020 model will reintroduce the 4.0 engine and the premium package will feature self-parking and a leather headliner. I live 300 miles from the San Antonio factory so I'm kinda an authority on these things.

Last gen they didn't have a real competitor and no reason to upgrade. They released this gen facing no competition. Tacoma sales are vital to Toyota in North America. They will not stand by idle until the next generation. I guarantee it.

Now I am not claiming that the 2019s will magically gain power seats nor that any of those rumors have any substance to them but I do expect the midcycle refresh for the Tacoma will not be as light as last gen's.

You'll take my manual adjusting seats from my COLD. DEAD. HANDS.

For real though I hate auto adjusting seats, they just take forever

Yes, because you know everyone adjust their seat every time they get in. Seriously, unless your 6’-6” and your wife 4’-10” and you take turns driving then you should never move it more then an inch or two.

The shitty oem seats would be fine if they made the notches every half inch instead of two inches. Even with the the tilt/extending steering wheel my 93 pathy was set up better (minus the airbags and other shit that would ave your life!).

Chill, I was just joking about one of the biggest flaws that everyone bashes the truck for (manual seats). Sarcasm doesn't work on the internet

I like to pull the lever and just slide the seat the whole way back after I inevitably have to let one of my shorter companions borrow my truck for whatever reason

Well its more about price points. An off road with the premium package is north of 40K. At that price point, all the competitors offer power seats. And many customers do want it. My sales guy at the Toyota dealer said he hears it all the time. But more importantly, the seat sits too low for many people. The cabin is lower then most so for some, raising it would make you hit your head. I'm in the market for a mid size and did not care for the 3.5/6 combo. Bad engine tune. But what ended up killing my decision was those awfully low seats with your legs sticking straight out. And of course no power seats did not go well with me at that price point.

For me, the seats are too low regardless of how tall you are. But IMO, this and many other things will be changed once the new Ford Ranger hits the streets. Now that has a comfy seat. Missed the one I had overseas. Will be picking up a new Ranger soon. And yes, they offer 8 way power seats. Night and day difference from the taco. And the back seat is actually much better and allot more head room. I doubt toy will fix that problem but they will probably cave in and put the power seats in. And if they don't offer a better motor/transmission they will lose allot of sales to Ford. Fords powerplant runs circles around the taco. So I expect another engine refresh in the future for the taco as well. Maybe a 8 speed transmission at the very least.

All of the foreign trucks have that milk crate seating....so what did you end up getting?, it sounds like it wasn't a tacoma.

Lack of a power drivers seat in 2017 is bs.

Milk crate? lol Ranger has some great seats. I doubt you have ever tried one? I have. I owned one in Fiji. And I've driven the taco on a couple test drives. If I were to take a long trip in a taco or Ranger it would be a very easy decision on which one I would prefer. But not loving that 3.5 and six speed. gutless is not a strong enough word. Can't believe toy puts there name one it. And its 3 seconds slower to 60 then a ranger. I know we don't buy these for straight line acceleration but damn. That pathetic. Ranger has the power where you want it.. low in torque. The taco wants to upshift all the time and keep you out of the power band. Toy needs to refresh that motor/trans IMO. Or at least put a 8 speed in there. Something. But yeah, probably getting another Ranger.. not out yet. In a few months. Considering pre ordering but will probably want to test drive first.
