Just simply stating that the Pinto is considered by most to be one of the worst vehicles of all time. They still sold a shit ton of them. More than the Tacoma is selling today, or at any other point. Lots of bitching here about the 3rd gen, in a place where these trucks are almost defined as “legendary” by majority of the members.

The Tacoma only took the reigns when Ford and GM pulled out. Toyota’s dependability during the 90’s helped. But they also really only had to compete against the frontier after that. Honda got involved but the ridgline has never been a close competitor. Now with ford coming back, Jeep in the mix, new frontier coming soon and the talk of a few more models, the sales numbers will start to paint a different picture.

I agree, but at the same time, I have a 2019 TRD Pro and do not have them. However, the 4Runner TRD Pro and other 4Runners, do. If they can be installed in the 4Runner, why not the Tacoma? Basically the same platform.

True. I'm sure its about maximizing profit and what the Toyota bean counters think the Tacoma customer values feature wise. I just did one of those surveys about the ability to lock my tailgate, power tailgate, etc. bet you that is coming next to Tundra or Tacoma.

I don’t mind the lack of power seats, makes it easier to move when something is lost underneath. Wife had a 16 Jeep Cherokee trailhawk and it lacked power seats as well not just Tacoma’s.

They’re looking at it along with remote start and the steering wheel lay out. These have been the topics of my last 3 surveys from Toyota.
