The driver's side window on my '03 extracab suddenly stuck down today. There was no warning of sluggish "ups" in the past, nor did I hear any strange noises the last time it went down. The passenger side works fine.

I pulled the switch assembly up from the door handle and diagnosed the signals at the switch connector. Every signal at the door side connector shows the right voltage level for the desired window state (pass-up, pass-down, driver-up, driver-down); 12V when switched to desired position, 0V otherwise.

I pulled the door panel and check the continuity to each of the motor wires from the connector. They are both good.

I don't hear any driver's side motor noise when switched up or down.

    Update:

After reading about slamming the door to fix it, I hit the door panel with a wooden mallet where the motor mounts to the regulator. It now works.

Is my problem more likely a bad motor or a sticky regulator? I have the door panel off, so now is the time to fix whatever is wrong.

Did the same thing on my daughters 2011 Civic....worked for about a week after that. Then it required a "hit" every day. Replaced the motor unit....all good.
