I aligned the locator pin thing. No up/down play at all. It was easy to locate the holes. They were actually a little too close to the center of the hinge. The Allen head cap screws supplied rubbed against the center part of the hinge. I would like to know where the motors and mirror adjust/fold switch are sourced in case I need replacements. I can supply pictures of the connector with the 360 cam wiring. I think earlier versions of this parts kit used different (separate) fold switches. I saw options for unlit, 'lower lit', and fully lit switches.

I wonder if I did mine wrong. I installed them 3 years ago and don’t really remember but after you said that I went back and looked at the instructions. When I I pulled my mirrors apart a few weeks ago I swear they were held together with that spring plate thing. But the instructions show Allen heads.

Guess it’s time to pull them apart again.

I’m going to pull the apart tomorrow. Either those three Allen bolts have come loose or installed it wrong. I swear I don’t have those allens. But it’s been three years so I’m probably remembering wrong. Both sides are the same so maybe I did something wrong.

I didn't reuse the spring or plate. Their install guide is better, but still has a lot of holes. If they would provide customer support, they would get feedback that would help them make a better product.

Check KTJO.com for their latest install guide. I think the Allen head screws are just M6 cap screws, Maybe 10-15 MM long.

I’ll give it a look. Got distracted with a tire project and haven’t looked at the mirrors yet.

I’m a moron. Took another look. All three of the allen bolts were way loose. Turns out tightening them fixed my problem.

Yours was probably like mine, where you have just enough slop to start the screws. Probably forgot to go back & snug them all up. Boy, I'm glad I don't make mistakes. When I get a new pencil, the first thing I do is cut off the eraser. Don't need it.

Just wondering if KTJO are the only folks offering a folding mirror option.. ,(for 3rd gen 2023). They seem a bit flaky...or at least the company does

I definitely want folding mirrors. And have pretty good tech skills....I have a tight garage...thanks for your counsel

I’m pretty sure none of the parts in this kit are specific to KTJO. I’ll have to dig up my instructions again and see. I could have sworn the motors were from another model Toyota.

Personally I wouldn’t buy anything from that company unless it’s money you don’t want. I think they got banned from this site as well because of their poor service.

Scratch that. There is a lot of wiring that will probably be a pain in the ass to do without the kit.

None of the very low-quality pin extractors shown will work, believe me I've gotten a set and have been able to use only a few on some very old fashion connectors. If you would like to see the type/family of connectors the mirrors use just look at the left rear two connectors in your under-hood fuse box. Those U-shaped holes are the access to the pin release tabs.

The 3-5 hour installation time estimate is a joke. It will take at least all day. Mine works well so far (Except for the backwards operation. Easy fix, but why do I have to?). KTJO has some good ideas, but fails epically on execution and customer service. The wires to the fuse holder should be long enough to allow it to be left just inside the window switch panel.

I was part of the first batch for these power folding mirrors. Barely any instructions and some low rez pictures. Installed them together with Meso's puddle lights, and it took around 10 hours all the way till like 3 or 4 am...

Came in to work pretty dead that day.

The later versions have improved (both product and install guide). I agree on installation guide. The first version I saw was quite crappy. I have Toyota 360, so no puddle lights. As a bonus, the camera in the mirror DOES add 6 wires and a larger OEM plug to the installation LOL.
