After looking for hours and meany forums. i notice that the Toyota HILUX has power folding mirrors with the LED turn single and puddle light. has anyone tried this using the HILUX mirrors before?????:confused: looks like it could be a direct bolt on with the factory look :D

I've also looked into it. I don't think the mirrors from the Hilux will mount up directly to the Tacos mirror bracket, different design.

I think the closes one are the mirrors from the current gen Sienna Limited. If you look at it closely it's almost the same design. But I'm not sure if it mounts up the same way as the Tacoma since it has the extra motor for the folding feature.

I'm trying to source one out through eBay. Even the once that's used is still expensive and they don't want to ship to Hawaii.

I remember reading a thread on Toyota Nation where someone modded the Sienna Limited mirrors to his Highlander.

The sienna limited mirrors are the closest thing to the Tacoma mirrors that offer all the options (power folding, power adjust, heat, blinkers, and auto-dimming). While dimensionally they are identical, the metal mounting bracket to the door bracket is just different enough that some machining would be required. Not only are the mirrors expensive (I have ~$600 wrapped up into a used set) but then you have to get the module that controls them. Working on this utilizing an arduino, but buying a house puts a damper in that fun.

That's a negative my man. Sourcing the parts out is pretty hard and expensive. Plus non of those parts would just bolt on. They'll need to be modified. How much modifying that I don't know b/c I haven't gotten my hands on those Sienna Limited mirrors.

So I'm going to just stick to the 4Runner mirrors that I got that.

I am interested in doing this modification but I would really like to use either the toyota 4runner mirrors or the lexus gx460 mirrors. preferably the later even though they are 1300 dollars each. I want the later ones cause they also have camera's installed in the bottom of them. Thinking about this... maybe there is a way to install the mechanisms into the tacoma mirrors.... maybe.... I will look at some lexus mirrors to see if it will work and just install the 180 degree backup camera's instead.
