What does everyone use? Just need to power an electric griddle, Maybe some lights and charge phones from time to time.

Can you not use the truck as is? Do you have the 120v outlet in the bed? How many watts does the griddle draw? Have you considered using a gas stove instead? I’ve personally never used anything other than gas or wood when camping.

I do not have the 120V in the bed. I may go with gas, seems a lot more cost effective

I'd agree especially without 120v in the bed. Then get one of the portable jump packs. Charge while driving, and use it to charge any devices. I've still never found a camping light I prefer more than a headlamp.

I can’t comment on the stove part (I used gas for that) for the other stuff I ran a wire from the battery to a panel in the back. That panel has a battery gauge, 12v oulet for my fridge, and two use ports.

    For the griddle:D

Seriously, to charge my phone I just installed this
    20210913_055308.jpg

Runs off the main battery and is switchable. I also installed the voltmeter so I can monitor the battery status when in use. It is a 12v outlet and a dual 2.8A usb charger.

I have the ecoflow river pro. Love it. But now the delta 2 is out and is a far better unit, albeit more but much better capabilities

Generators are loud and noisy -
Goal Zero Yeti400 works for us ( in the camper ) and with solar panels for re-charging when not near electrical outlets it's great.

I can run my CPAP machine in 12v capacity for several days on it, charge phones, run the lights etc.

For a cheap alternative, I bought a 100A lithium battery (a deep cycle would be even cheaper), an inverter (size depending on what you need) and a battery charger that I plug into the 120 outlet while I'm driving.

Have a bluetti 1200w pure sine wave inverter that works well with a griddle. I just dot want to carry a propane griddle.

I haven't camped with the Tacoma yet but when we motorcycle camp I use a portable USB battery pack to charge my devices. I believe Anker is the brand and it's about the size of a wallet. It's nice to have even when I'm not camping. For lighting I have a Streamlight LED lamp that runs on 3 D cell batteries.

What are you going to do with an electric griddle? I mean, as dorky as the skottle people are at least they can make tacos.

Get an LP bottle and a stove and bbq like the rest of us.

But yeah, don't be that douchebag who shows up to a camping area and runs a generator all day or night
