That's the one we have. It runs our cooler for a few days... we also use it to run a fan in the summer and some LED light strips in the truck bed. When it was unexpectedly cold we camped with a heated throw blanket and it ran it overnight. When we are on road trips I recharge the Ecoflow from the 12-volt outlet I put in the bed. If the battery ever wears out, I will replace it with one of the new ones with the better battery chemistry but I expect to get several more years of life out of it. I got it from Costco last year when they had it on sale for $429.

I have an SR and used this kit for the power outlet - it came with a loomed/fused harness, super easy.

ok.... can't say I've ever been bothered by someone's toaster or a microwave while out camping.

But generators, fuck those things. They rank right up there with people playing loud music or yelling/loud talking all night. Those are the people I go camping to get away from.

Unfortunately it seems harder to find places to get away from people like that now. Never stay in campgrounds, and even in remote dispersed areas its not uncommon to hear a generator fire up in the distance and run for extended periods.

I bought a jackery 300 and a watt solar panel from them, haven't tried running a griddle, probably need at least the 1000. Other than that great for charging anything. Laptop will charge 4 times. Panel charges really fast

Anything that makes (or removes) heat is going to need massive amounts of batteries to power it. A small griddle is at least 1000 watts. For those with the bed outlet, it puts out 400W max, with the engine running and stationary. It does not work if the truck is off, and only 100W while moving. So no griddle, no hair dryer on high, most coffee pots are out, and your burning gas.

Propane or butane stoves make the most sense for cooking. A small 300wh to 500wh Bluettit or Jackery power station should easily get you through a weekend for LED lights and charging phones. Top stuff up in the truck if you're driving around. Maybe add a small solar panel to charge the power station if needed.

I have a Bluetti EB55 with a 100 watt solar panel, that will run my fridge for a week as long as there is some sun. It would be more than enough for some LED lights and phones. Just conserve power when you can by turning things off when you don't really need them.

FYI: based on some quick research, a typical car battery has about 4000 times the capacity of a typical smartphone battery. You shouldn’t need anything other than the existing USB connectors to charge phones. CAVEAT: I have a vague memory of someone saying the truck will shut off accessory power after a period of time.

I like this idea; seems fairly budget friendly. Could even put it all neatly into its' own little case...

    What charger are you using?

I use a cheap harbor freight charger (viking brand I think). You have to be sure to stay in the wattage limitation of the Tacoma inverter.

I have the new Ecoflow River 2 Max and took it out on a road trip last week. I was surprised I was not able to get it to charge using the AC plug in my 3rd Gen taco. Are there any settings I could adjust in the Ecoflow App that will allow the outlet in my truck to charge the Ecoflow? I was able to turn on a Ninja Blender pulling 400w from the same outlet when I tested it by the way but no luck with it charging the Ecoflow. Thanks for any info

It might not be a power issue, rather a type of power issue. I believe the Tacoma is a modified sine wave inverter. It is possible that your Ecolflow doesn't like modified sine wave and won't charge on it.

Ahh okay gotcha. Any remedies to this like adding some sort of filter or converter of some type to the existing inverter in the Tacoma. I’d really like to use the outlet in the bed since it’s location is ideal to my setup I have for over landing.

You are right, it’s not a pure sine wave inverter and could damage electronics like those in his power station also. The Tacoma inverter should be used for electric motors like a blender or power tools only.
