I have a 2001 Tacoma and yesterday I noticed that only when locking the truck I hear a loud buzzing noise when the driver door locks, it's a pretty load noise, it can be heard inside and out of the truck. Has anyone had this problem or a fix for it?

Hehe. It's somewhat common. I currently have the same problem. The gears inside the door lock actuator are stripped, therefore, they're grinding when you lock it. The only fix is to replace the actuator but you can't buy it from the dealer. The dealer will only sell you the entire lock assembly which is about $300. You need to find someone that is parting out their truck or go to a junk yard. I've had the problem for almost a year now but my locks still work.
