I have a 2011 Tacoma 4wd 2.7L. No Check engine light/no codes showing. If I lightly give it gas the vehicle is able to accelerate just fine, however If I give a lot of gas to where it hits 3k RPM or if I try driving up steep hills then the vehicle speed slows down significantly while the RPM stays revving at 3k and I have to take my foot off the accelerator completely for it to drop back down to 2k RPM but even then it will barely creep up hill. The RPM never goes above 3k because that seems to be the point where it halts the vehicle and speeds decrease. It seems like it is not shifting properly to me, however I read that it may have something to do with a clogged fuel strainer inside fuel pump. I have already cleaned MAF sensors and air filters and that did nothing. I've also used Lucas oil injector cleaner to see if that would help but I'm at a loss.

I think I'd start with an exhaust backpressure test, sounds like the catyletic converter may be plugged.
