I have a unique problem with my 2008 Tacoma 2.4 base regular cab.

When temperature gets below 50 degrees, or so, I have no power to radio, clock and over-head dome light. Everything else works great but these these lose power with low temperatures. After temperature gets above that, power comes back. I took to the local Toyota dealer and they ran a diagnostic test. Said I needed a new wiring assembly ($3500 - $4000), which I think is BS. Anyone have any ideas or suggestions. Thanks.

Not to cut hairs, but 2004 was the last years for the 2.4 4 cyl motor. Starting in 2005 Toyota bumped it to a 2.7

I don't know about the temp thing, but I would pull and continuity test every fuse in the truck. Not eye-ball the fuses - continuity check everyone of them for starters. Ensure they fit snugly as well. Look around as well for loose wiring connections.

Christmas is getting closer. Somebody at the dealership is looking for Santa Claus money.

Update - not everything in this thread may apply to you, but I would read thru the whole thing anyway. Worth a shot:

Dealer sounds crazy. Id live with it before I pay that.
    Plus it's a 2.7 in your truck if its a 08 4 banger

You are right, it is a 4.7 - my typing is shotty at best, the 7 is just above the 4, looking at one key and hit another.

Replaced all fuses and relays from another same model. Still same result.

I will try another battery or check battery connection, as suggested in another forum. Last resort will be to wire radio & clock to switch.

Dang! Hit wrong key again. It is definitely a 2.7 - got it right that time. That's what happens to Old Bowlers, they strike out!

    Thanks for suggestions.
