    Hi.
I am posting here because most of the folks in the Gen 1 forum don't have electronic ignition, or fuel injection.
My 04 with a 2RZFE 4 cylinder has developed a problem. It was running normally, then lost power. I noticed that there was one very small sweet spot on the accelerator that would maintain the engine running at about 45mph. Fortunately I was only 3 or 4 miles from home. Any more gas, and it would loose all power. Any less, the same.
I am thinking about fuel delivery. Is there a filter somewhere? If I have a failing fuel pump, is three a way to measure pressure? I have a fuel pres. gauge, but it has a type connection that looks loke a tire pressure valve. I don't see a connection like that on my engine.
It could be electrical. Could be injectors. It was also backfiring, quite unusual.
    Any ideas?
This truck set up for a year or two a while back, but I have driven it about 5K miles since then without problems.
    Thanks!

Not sure how because all 1st gens have both although newer ones have coil packs instead of a distributor.

Fuel pressure can and should be checked but you have to tee into the line. IIRC it's 5/16 flare and the best spot is where the line from the engine connects to the line on the frame on the driver's side.

If you have a scan tool looking at codes and scan data would be helpful as well.

The 04 was the last year for Gen 1. Only a few years. Maybe 2000 and up have fuel injection and coil pacs. None the less, I appreciate your comments. PO135,PO511, & PO325 show up on the scanner, although that may have been like that for awhile. SES light stays on always. More concerning is Fuel Sys OL-Fault when I go into Live data mode. It is always on now. Interestingly enough, it cranks and runs fine in the yard now. There is a black can bolted to the engine, is that a fuel filter?
    Thanks again.
