Has anyone had the OEM parts installed for this feature after purchase of vehicle? I'm guessing not but curious.

The one feature my Sport TRD with Upgrade Package did not include, and I'd love to have it.

So... If my truck were totaled today, I'd find another OR with the Premium package. The one item I'm not in love with is the powered tailgate. I kind of like it and I kinda don't. It's a bit slow and sometimes persnickety. It's not as if the tailgate is heavy.

I concur. I kind of like it and I don't but it would be nice to have it, Lol. My '24 TRD OR came with nice upgrades that I enjoy, but I don't think it's the premium package. 14" Screen, Power Seats, JBL Sound System, Sunroof, rear active window, Aux 1 ~ 3. The Toyota logo in the front lights up when I turn on the lights. The night I drove it home from the dealership, my wife told me that she could see the Toyota logo in her rear view mirror.

If you have an OR with power tailgate, you have the Premium package which also gets the leatherlike softex ventilated seats and 360 camera stuff (MTM). OR Upgrade package can have 14" display and moonroof added. Illuminated logo is a separate option not connected with Premium or Upgrade.

The silly illuminated Toyota logo is a port added or dealer added accessory. Glad I don’t have that on my truck otherwise I would have ripped that out first day.

Maybe not feeling like I'm missing as much if that's the case.

I have it on my Sport. If I could have excluded things from the premium package, the power tailgate would have been one of them. It's ok, but I just prefer a manual tailgate. I don't see a need for the powered operation. It seems like they did it just because they could.

It's mighty handy unloading groceries and things where your hands are full, just bump it with a knee to close, and it locks securely with the hard tonneau. I love it. But I'm old, so I enjoy conveniences. No idea if it's possible to add it on, imagine it would be very costly if it is.

If it were an option on mine, I might have skipped it. Now that I have it, I couldn't imagine not having it. When I leave the pool supply store with a four gallon pack of liquid chlorine, I use my elbow to bump the side button and lower the tailgate. Otherwise I would have to set the case down on the ground (they don't have shopping carts). I'm sure many will mock this boujee feature but it does make me feel well, boujee.

I’ll be the black sheep and say I love it. It is very useful for my application and use case.

Just yesterday I was unloading the truck with beach chairs and my hands were full. I asked my 5 year old son who was with me to press the button on the side of the taillight to close it.
