From my research there isn’t a power rear slider for the first gen, was there one or never existed?
With the extra cab my manual one is almost unusable. Any ideas?
    Thanks..

My uncle installed one in a totaled 1986 Toyota pickup that he bought at an insurance auction like 30 years ago...

Backstory on that truck; It was a base model 2WD 5-speed with no A/C and a bench seat. It was red, but I don’t remember it was originally red or if my uncle repainted it. It had been totaled because it got rear-ended and the bed got destroyed; I believe the frame escaped damage. My uncle got a bed from another wrecked truck, and also installed A/C, a stereo with cassette (this was about 1989-1991, mind you), and the aforementioned power rear slider; The icing on the cake was the 1974 AMC Hornet wheels with 1980s Toyota emblems on the center caps. The truck had a rebuilt title, but there was absolutely nothing wrong with it otherwise. My uncle gave the truck to my grandpa (his dad), who drove it from about 1991 to 1996. In 1996, the same uncle sold him a 1995 Jeep Cherokee that my aunt made him get rid of because it was a 2-door and not a 4-door. My grandpa sold the Jeep and leased a new GMC Envoy in 2003.

There’s a thread in here of a guy who was going to make automatic ones for the side windows and rear but never finished it.

I was really close to pursuing it with hand cut plexiglas, then I realized my insurance would just give me glass if my sliding one broke. Now I enjoy the visibility too much to even care lol
Plus my 4runner has drop down back glass :p

Looks like this guy made one. It looks nearly finished in this video. I would probably extend the channels further down for stability and reliability. Also worth noting that this configuration would likely let water into the cab. Still a nice touch on an impressive build.

also looks like he made an electric sunroof. https://youtu.be/3z_8tb1lMCM
