I have wondered the same. Probably a pita to retrofit. Honestly though, if you had one, how often would you use it?

I have a sunroof in my taco and thought I would use it constantly...not the case.

I have sunroof as well. I’ve never opened rear window. I do use my sunroof when ever possible. Montana summers are some what mild.

There is a thread “quicksand pro” (or something like that), where someone converted a 2016 into a pro, and added a rear electric slide window. Seem to remember is was expensive and painful install, but find that thread and read for yourself.

I have the electric rear window and choose not to open because I always forget to close it. Have gotten lucky a few times and remembered right before a rain. I think if I would have to manually open it I wouldn't forget.

Funny how you are reminded your sunroof is open, but not the rear power window.

I really wish there were a warning for the rear window.

It’s a challenge on the double cab. I think it’s called distractive driving. Power window seems like a good convenience

I’ve used mine once and that was just to see how it worked. I would have been fine without it.

I use it daily. I live in Oregon. The windows are foggy with rain most of the time. Open and shut it and I have a clear view out the back window.

I have left it open a few times during the summer. Haven’t got caught in the rain yet, but a reminder for my short term memory loss would be nice.

In the good ole days the rear sliders sure came in handy for tossing empties into the back dumpster.

Only time I open the rear sliders and sunroof is when the wife wants to get garlic chicken take-out.

i had a 16 (no power rear window) and now a 17 tacoma (power rear window). i use the rear window all the time. it's great for when you want some airflow without having the door windows open. it sucks the air in through the vents. it also helps minimize the buffeting that you get when you open both rear windows.

I use my power sliding window all of the time also when it isn't super hot or super cold. Open both front windows and the rear slider and you get great air flow without being too turbulent. I'm glad Toyota changed it to a power sliding glass. I rarely used it in my 2nd gen because I'd forget to open or close it. I'm tall, about 6'3" but don't find it that easy to reach from the front. Definitely don't have T-Rex arms.. Maybe I sit too far forward and not as reclined for it to be easier? I do like to sit upright..
