Just seeing the power steering is leaking makes me think there are/could be bigger problems with the vehicle. I just hope this is an isolated incident on a brand new vehicle as opposed to the trickle effect of issues.

Bummer, sorry to hear this. I had this same issue with the first FJ off the boat in San Diego in 2006. I went through 4 power steering pumps in 4000 miles, or something crazy like that. For some reason the pump could never mate correctly to the block. The dealer finally told me they couldn't fix it and they would support me in a lemon law case. A power steering issue is DEFINITELY lemon law applicable, IF it comes to the point Toyota can't fix it, as it's a safety issue. I went through the long process and ended up sitting down in a hearing with Toyota and a moderator. I plead my case, Toyota plead theirs, and I was awarded a full refund. Took that check and put it down on the same exact FJ and never had an issue with it.

I still wonder what happened to that FJ. Toyota said it would be crushed. What a waste.

Hopefully this is a simple fix OP and you can move on. Chances are it is. But if not, you might check the NM lemon law.

Ha! Funny you should ask. I had a well documented case supported by the dealer and the Toyota rep just acknowledged those facts existed. That's it. I got the hint they knew it was a slam dunk on my end and agreed with me, but couldn't verbalize it. They knew what the right thing to do was, and did it.

So they wasted the shareholders money by going into arbitration with a moderator? That seems stupid.

This is why you should wait if you can to review the trucks performance for at least 10 months. This is a new truck with new engine, transmission, body frame, and interior. I do realize that some people need transportation now however from what I have been observing over the past 5 months it seems most people are caught up in a buying frenzy just to say I am one of the first to get one....I guess. I have seen people order these trucks without knowing the cost of the truck. I don't know maybe I am just an old fashion cunsumer when it comes to big ticket purchases. There have been several reported problems with this truck and it has only been on the market for a month and 1 week. The good thing about this is that Toyota will correct these problems but until then me and my Trd sport 06 will sit on the side lines and just observe Matter of fact when I started going to dealerships and looking at the 2016 tacos my Trd sport 06 would not start the next day she needed a fuel filter replacement. I never had any major problems out of her. I believe she is upset because she feels she maybe replaced. I am trying to convince her that I will keep her and get her a baby brother 16/17 Trd OR

    Update:

I dropped the truck off at the dealer this morning and explained to them what was going on with the vehicle. They call me back within two hours to inform me they could not find a leak anywhere in the power steering system. The rep said their "top tech" was on it and he was not able to pinpoint any issue. So they top off the fluid and let me know the vehicle is ready for pickup. So my question if this is the third time the power steering reservoir has had to be filled, how is there not a leak somewhere? Now I am starting to to question my own deductive reasoning. Seriously, what's going on here?
