My 99 tacoma, Rack was leaking, P/S pump was whining probably clogged screen was the cause. New rack, i flushed both lines and cleaned the hell out of the reservoir. In the process of cleaning the Pressure line the air control valve smacked a tool chest and broke one of the nipples off. I replaced it however, it did not end up in the same postition as the original. After bleeding the system and of course making sure the pump didnt run dry, i started the truck it was fine at first. but it was loud whining had shit for steering by the time i got to town. I switched the hoses on the air control valve thinking that may be an issue. When i started it about a half hour later it was fine, no noise great steering. Drove the truck around running errands for hours. It sat for few hours and NOW its the same thing noisy whine, im out of ideas any suggestions would be greats
