I have a howling sound coming from the power steering. It makes 2 noises actually the howling sound and, what sounds like either water running through a pipe or a bearing. Only makes these noises when going straight or turning to the left. When turning, the howling changes to the other sound. It's quiet turning to the right though.

I replaced the ps pump as I thought i localized the noise to that side of the engine and the fact that it goes away when turning to the right. Still does it.

    Any thoughts, ideas?

Did you flush the system and bleed the air following pump replacement?

Of course....3 quarts later. The new pump made the steering itself easier, but I still got the noises.
Flushing the old power steering fluid out was done before I replace the pump and when I replaced it.
