Power Steering Pump Bad/Fluid Change

    You haven't flushed your fluid yet? A whine could mean a clogged power steering pump reservoir or a failing pump.

    But the steering feels fine, I think. I don’t notice any difference.

    How much atf fuild did you use?

    Damn it's been so long I can't remember. I just refilled the reservoir to the original capacity.

    @Timmah! has some videos where he cleans the reservoir out. They get pretty grimy.

    My steering is very stiff, but I just replaced the rack and flushed all the fluid with no change. Any chance my power steering is going bad? Also, I have uniball lower control arms so maybe that’s it?

    When I did this over three years ago I just jacked up the front end and turned the wheel lock to lock and added more fluid as it demanded it.

    When I did the job again on a Jeep, I unplugged the return line so all the old fluid in the system went to a bottle while the new fluid got sucked through the system. Could be you have air in the system.

    I’d get an alignment too.

    I have got many alignments. the steering just sticks to whatever position I turn it to so hopefully I just have some defective uniballs
