My power steering pump failed and I NEED to fix it before work on Tuesday morning.

I have the new pump and filter.

The pump comes with a bunch of gaskets and an inline filter and a manual that says, essentially, “Make sure you install all the parts properly and use all of the proper procedures.”

    Thanks for that.

The videos I’ve seen do not go into the detail of what gaskets /washers go where, nor do they bother with the inline filter part.

    1) Are there any detailed how-to’s on this particular task that you can point me to?

    2) Can anyone post shots of any helpful service manual pages that I can reference for my work in the morning?

I will be ordering manuals tonight online for later reference, but they won’t arrive in time to help.

    Thanks!

How did this happen on a 2014?

Haven't heard of many if any failures

I personally wouldn't use the filter, we throw them out with the reman units. Fresh fluid and a good install is all it needs, don't want a failing point beyond that.

Did you buy a new or a reman? If it’s a cardone reman I wouldn’t even bother installing it.

    Why not use the filter?

    Does it have negative impacts?

Yes, it’s a Cardone remanufactured pump. It was the only one in stock in my local stores.

    Can you elaborate?

Cause I need my truck working tomorrow morning. Not installing something today is not an option for me.

Cardone pumps rarely work. They are either noisy or leaky. But hey, you might just get lucky. Usually I go through 3-4 cardone products before I get a good one. I always go with a new one.
