I'm trying to get the belt off the PS pump for my 1996 Tacoma 3.4L. How *exactly* do I decrease the belt tension to get the belt off?

    Reserected from the dead.
There is an idler pulley on the bottom of the motor for that belt. Loosen the bracket clamp bolt then loosen the tensioner bolt to take the tensioner off the belt.

Lay on the floor on your back and look up.

Edit: i describe the a/c compressor belt. The ps pump has a similar tensioner bolt as well.

the nut that holds the pulley also locks the position of the adjustment. Loosen the front nut a bit then loosen the adjusting bolt.

Is that a 3.4 V6? Looks odd; could be the photo angle??
