So I cleaned the screen in my power steering reservoir awhile back. Put the reservoir back on, and it's been steering great. One issue though is that there has been a slow leak from where the reservoir sits on the pump. Don't know if I lost an o-ring somewhere in the process or what.

Anyone have a breakdown of the reservoir and the pump?

I know there is an o-ring that goes in a grove on the piece from the reservoir that slides into the pump, but what about at the actual meeting surface between the pump and reservoir?

T'would appear there is only one o ring between the two, perhaps yours slipped out of its groove slightly on installation? It's a pretty easy thing to happen

My 99 FSM only shows one o-ring.

What really threw me off was that there was a sliver of an o-ring at the base when I took it off. Which made me think there was definitely one there at one point, but now it has vanished. But right before I installed the reservoir, I double checked the existing o-ring, and it had a sliver cut off. Seems like it was pinched off while putting it back on I assume.

We'll see how well it holds fluid this time. If still leaking, I'll take it back off and throw on a bigger o-ring in the grove.

This o-ring is a one-use only, like most o-rings on our trucks. Don't re-use the old one unless you have no choice.

Did you ever end up ordering this o-ring or using a misc one? I took my reservoir off to clean it and now it's leaking too. I suspect it's also this o-ring.

I had the same problem...I just used a generic o ring from an assortment kit I have. I even buggered up one when reinstalling, I found it to be beneficial to make sure and lube up the oring before reinstalling the reservoir to minimize "drag" on the ring while sliding it in.
