    Hello my Tacoma Peeps.
I finally did the brake pads and rotors of my'96 Taco 4x4 today. It has been about 20 years since I did the brakes on her and that was just a set of OEM pads when I first got her.
I have been wanting to upgrade the pads and rotors for a while and since starting a family and the Taco isn't my daily driver anymore, I kept putting it on the back burner until I rotated the tires and saw the pads were worn down.
I decided on the Power Stop kit since they offered what looks like a decent kit with minimal brake dust.
I read the reviews and there were mixed feelings about the kit from other people.
The installation was straight forward. I followed the break in instructions and they are quiet. I could feel the power of the brakes getting stronger each time I hit the brake pedal as I was heating up the brakes during the break in. Initial impression of the kit is nice and quiet and strong braking power. It came with new hardware and brake quiet at a reasonable price, under $200.00 using the TW discount on Rock Auto.
I will keep you updated if I run into any issues with this setup, hopefully I won't have any.
    Fingers crossed!

I bought the powerstop brake kit for my father as a gift, for his F150. That was two years ago. He really loves them and has nothing bad to say about them

Bought it from rockauto as well, very good price for a decent brake kit

    Update:
Almost a week to the day, 6 days to be exact, I am driving home with my daughter and there was an accident blocking traffic going the opposite direction that I am going. This guy in the other direction decides he wants to flip a u turn in front of me to get out of the blocked traffic. He can't make the full u turn and has to dart into the side street to get out of the way. I am driving about 40 mph when this idiot pulls this maneuver in front of me. I slam on the brakes and they stopped me perfectly, scared the crap out of me but the Powerstops did their job. No squealing or pulsating pedal, I am glad I had just done my brakes or he would have totaled my Tacoma!

    Thanks!

A work in progress. Made a few more sparks this weekend on my skid plates, hope to get them ready for paint this weekend.

Our Taco's are always a work in progress, looking forward to the next upgrade even if it doesn't need it. My neighbors must think my truck keeps breaking down but I guarantee them that it is just maintenance and improvements that I am doing. Next couple of weeks I'm replacing the sway bar bushings and end links since I saw they were worn when I did the brakes. ;-)
