Just got a Tranzit BLU HF for my rig. Hoped to easily find a red & black to connect the unit to acc power, but all I see are harnessed plugs, and all the YT vids don't show the actual process of splicing into those. Not an electrical engineer, so as little use of a multimeter (if any!) would be appreciated; I WILL put on my big boy undies if needed, but.... Really just looking for a quick, "clip here, attach there, etc...". And major bonus if there's pics! Thanks y'all!

Easy place to get accy power and a good ground is in the cig lighter down below the radio.
Use a phone charger or something to ensure it turns off with the truck, but I'm pretty sure it does.

The white/black wire is always ground in toyota.

Edit* I like the cig lighter better than the accy wire in the radio harness because that wire is very thin, and has a very low amperage available. Hooking up the transit to that wire for power could blow a fuse.
The cig lighter is fused for something like 15-20 amps so no concern of drawing too much power there.

I feel like after you pop off the A/C panel and take the radio out, it’s pretty easy to reach down there and unplug the connector from the socket.

Is there a socket at each receptacle? Or one main one? If that's the case, I can't get my fat fingers back there. Think I'm in over my head.

Thx so much! Totally in the dark on this, can I just splice into any available dash hanger, the one that goes into the AC/heat has a gray?

NO!! Just because it’s grey doesn’t mean anything. In the main radio harness, the thin grey wire is accy. This is the only wire I would even attempt getting power from. I definitely wouldn’t mess with wiring going to ac controls.

Gotchoo! Think I'm going that route(main radio harness); may adjust if it blows fuses. What should I use to splice? Any particular connectors/technique you recommend?
