I apologize in advance for the dumb question I'm about to ask. Electrical wiring isn't a strength of mine. I've installed car stereos and backup cameras, but that's about as deep as I've ever gone.

I recently bought a 3rd Gen TRD OR and I'm thinking the first big mod to do would be install something like a switchpro, voswitch, auxbeam, or caliraised 8 switch control system. Seems simple enough. You mount and wire that to your battery, break through the firewall to mount your switcher, and then add accessories nicely organized under the hood.

Then I started seeing ads for Power Trays... I can't figure out what on earth they add to in value. If you go high end Switch Pro + Power Tray, you're looking at around $1000. Is that really necessary?

for me all that stuff is overrated and too expensive you can get the same result by just getting a fusebox bracket, getting a breaker, and a Bluesea fusebox connected to the battery with proper gauge wires. of course with a more complicated rig youll need different electrical components but if youre just trying to connect a couple led lights or accessories just install a fusebox. I installed a Bluesea fusebox and its working great at a fraction of the switchpro prices. theres a big thread on here where people share their fusebox installs. read that thread, think of what your goal with the mod is and install accordingly.
