I have used 3 sets of those on two trucks. One stock, one with armor and 33" tires.

    Love them

Oh, right on guys thanks. Should've checked here first before ordering, but the summit sales guy was convincing claiming minimal dust and uses them himself.

Love the idea of upgrading the brakes instead of having to do the tundra upgrade, even if slight improvement in braking.

They say they come with break-in notes, but don't say what they are exactly. Previously, I've done 2 different break in procedures: some say to brake hard on the street, then let them cool (this caused my previous rotors on different car to warp), the other is minimal braking first ~200 miles or so (seemed like good break in procedure)

I installed the Powerstop calipers on my Tacoma when doing the Tundra brake upgrade. Stops like a sports car. Do the tundra brake caliper upgrade instead of sticking with the Tacoma calipers. It's an upgrade I should have done earlier.

Yea, that's what I mean, I haven't had good results in the past doing that method. Is it the same just doing very light braking for first 100 miles or so? (avoiding long downhills, light braking, holding the brake at a stop, etc.)

I don't want to have to get new wheels, I like my current ones, plus more rubber for offroading.

I used them for my Tundra brake upgrade. You can get all the parts from rockauto, minus the SS lines from wheelers. I also used the larger OEM brake pads. So far so good. I don’t daily my truck so I didn’t notice any huge improvements. Then again my truck is on the heavier side.

    Cool.

I'll never use rockauto again though, non-existent customer service if any problems, just my experience.

So which break-in procedure did you use? The light braking for initial 100-200 miles, or the technique in the video DCLB posted (and did you experience warping or fade using either one)?

FWIW, I used the video break-in procedure twice when I installed fresh rotors and tow pads on my 01 TRD X-cab, and it worked great! Many miles of towing a fishing boat with a Northstar truck camper, and I didn't experience any warping or fading. The only reason I installed the second set was the "pad life" of the first set (completely normal life expectancy).

I just put them on and drive. Get up to like 40-60mph and mash the brakes a couple times and call it good.
