that's ridiculous for labor you need to find another shop unless you can afford to throw money away like that for that job that's not a very special NOT A hard job to do, it's a very simple job

I believe ya especially based upon all the work you do there-I'm a little jealous of that. You'd be feeling the same about me if you knew of all the things I used to do with cars. I was the family pit crew.
BTW now I'm scared what the cost will be to do the first brake job on my '16 RX350-shit that's Lexus rates!

 

120 150 per labor hour is normal these days.

even Firestone charges this.

after all my 20+ years of wrenching I learned one very important thing.... you better question the quality of work from a shop that charges less than the average in the area.

IE: if the average is 100 per hr and dude down the street is charging 60 per hr... might be stolen, wrecking yard parts, or cheap aftermarket.

OP you should’ve asked for your old parts, by law you are entitled to them, the shop might still have em...

 

so is changing an upper radiator hose!!!
my local dealer wanted $280 for that job, luckily i did not have to crawl underneath truck to change it myself, still took me quite awhile (almost 3hrs) including time for cool down and a snack break
they were probably gonna charge me an hour to wait for my truck to cool down though why it was so much lol
bummer was the 1/2 gallon of coolant that had very little mileage onit just washed away

I just did my front brakes and rotors 2 days ago and it took me two hours to do them.
And it cost $45 to have the rotors both turned

 

They said because they were drilled and slotted it cost more I don't know whether it really does or not but that's what they told me

 

But at least you can get a bubble bath and a massage at the dealer while you're waiting.

 

This dealer only has coffee.

drilled and slotted rotors need a special head to cut the rotors, 45 is probably a decent price.

I got the rotors and pads a couple months ago so I figured I'd give a heads up on what I think is a great product after using them a little while.

 

Cheap with no prior research? Probably more expensive in the long run.

That's interesting because I've always thought that a shop that charges dealer rates without dealer overhead is a total ripoff, based on my decades of experience.
