Powertrax rear locker for 2011 Sport

Been looking at getting the powertrax rear locker for my 2011 sport, I emailed customer support and they informed me that they only carry a rear locker and that the one they offer will fit in my truck. I looked at the part number they gave me (92-2080-3002) and it says that it's for the 8in rear end and if I'm not mistaken I believe that the Sport editions have a 8.5in rear end. Will this still fit my truck?

 

someone correct me if I'm wrong, but i believe even though you have the trd sport, and electronic lsd, you will be looking at the (non-trd) 8in one, you actually have an 8.4 in rear end. the trd off road has the 8in rear end with e-locker.

 

I thought they stopped putting the LSD in sports prior to 2011? I might be wrong.

But yea I'm tracking that sports have the 8.4 and was just making sure that this locker would fit.

 

technically both diff's are 8in in diameter.... but they are slightly different hence the 8.4 and 8.0 inch naming that has become common.

 

So im assuming that this would work fine in my truck, i did do my research i was just trying to see if there was anyone out there with more experience than me on these things to chime in with their opinions and knowledge.

 

Don't believe it will fit. You need something for Tacoma 8.4" rear end.

 

Hmmm, the guy i messages informed me that it would, I'm gonna keep searching around to see if I find anything. I was hoping someone with some experience with powertrax lockers would chime in by now.
