I just picked up a 21 Trd. The factory installed ppf on the hood and door edges. I was wondering is it worth getting xpel done on my whole front bumper, grill and mirrors? Cost is 350.

Unless you travel 100% on gravel roads, I wouldn't. The plastic is a lot easier to use touch up paint on than metal and the entire front of the truck in plastic. Plus, you'll soon be looking into mods like a front metal bumper, so put the $350 towards that.

My truck is just a few months old and I'm looking at installing the Xpel Rocker Panel Guard film now. I live in the PNW and do a lot of backcountry driving (Forestry/Logging/BLM roads.) So I do drive a lot of sketchy gravel/dirt roads and encounter downed trees or tight quarters often. In my case it seems like the smartest move. I've actually already taken a pretty significant scratch that hopefully buffs out lol. I have the factory ppf on the side but of course it was just above that. I wouldn't worry about the bumper or mirrors. You will want side protection if you're going offroad

Modifications are bad and only bad people modify.
I wonder whether a film left on baking for many years causes any deleterious effects to the paint, as I have seen mixed reviews on some, but I am ignorant of it. I hear/rear nothing but great things about xpel, though I'm not sure what the film was you're quoting.

My road/weekend track car after 8 years/90k miles. The pic makes it look better than it is, but there are a lot of chips and the front is the most rough and chipped part of the car. If I knew for sure there were no ill effects, I would personally have absolutely gotten it wrapped.
