Anyone use PPF for their roof rack? Wanting to see if this product is a good idea or not needed:

Our Tacoma PPF Roof Rack Guards offer superior protection from wear and tear due to roof racks. Many roof racks feature a rubber gasket or similar element that touches the vehicle's paint. Over time, dirt, grime, and gravel can accumulate and cause damage to the vehicle's clear coat and, ultimately, the metal. In our experience, rust can form on new vehicles with roof racks installed early. Our 12 mil PPF guards offer excellent protection from such damage over the long term. If you're looking to maintain the paint of your vehicle and avoid any issues from utilizing a roof rack, this is a great product for you.

Our Tacoma Roof Rack Guard is precisely cut to fit your vehicle for ease of installation. Installation is simple and requires a small squeegee and a small amount of soapy water if done wet. PPF can be applied dry or wet. Check out our installation video to see the process for our wet Install on an Inferno Tacoma.

Seems like a solution in search of a problem.

Ordered my 2017 Off-Road with roof rack installed.

8.5 years and 100k miles later, parked outdoors 24/7/365, there's no sign of any of the above having occurred.

Perhaps if you use a roof rack part of the time and the mounts don't fit up to the roof well the PPF might do something useful.

Honestly, I've seen enough vehicles (Tacos, 4Runners, etc.) with the paint on the front of the roof going bad even w/o a roof rack history to the vehicle. I'd love to see this available to me not only for my Yoda, but for my RAV4 as well. After watching the video, I feel confident I can DIY apply it no problem, esp. with the help of my wife/friend/etc. I'm all in!
