Let us know. I live in CO as well and am getting the update this Friday (hopefully) before heading out to the mountains.

Once the highway gets hilly, thats when my Taco struggles big time. Lots of double down shifting and struggles to keep speed.

When I carried mine in back in 2016 they actually said "well anybody with a computer can make that and print it out". So when they called 2 days later with their own copy I just bit my tongue and acted like I appreciated the update. Gotta pick your battles.

I am scheduled for service next week up at Pedersen in Fort Collins, CO. I hope there will be no issues. They asked me to bring the TSB's with me to ensure a smooth service experience so maybe that is a good sign?

When I bought the new redesigned 2016 I expected some new model issues. I did not expect to involve Corporate to get warranty repairs. I figured out real quick that this is not the old Toyota Corporation. This is the American version of Toyota. Profit is key. If you don't believe me just wait until you replace your "Little Tykes" speakers in your truck. I literally had to make several videos, broadcast them on youtube, emailed them to Corporate and emailed them to the dealer to get some issues fixed under warranty.

I called Toyota of Marin and scheduled an appointment for this Sunday. I told the person at the service department that my truck was having an issue going up hills. I told her that there is a TSB update for possible fix. I offered to give her the TSB number and she asked me if I will need a courtesy ride or not. I hope I don’t get the run around when I show up.

Those guys are absolutely horrible. I did the three-oil-change special for my gen 1 and every time it took twice as long and they never washed it or rotated the tires. One time, they forgot to fasten the battery on my friends gen 1.

Anyone in the SoCal LA area have any luck with the TSB update at their local dealership? If so, please name that dealership.

Sounds like some dealerships have no idea what we are talking about and some do.

Going in tomorrow for them to "diagnose" which I think is key word for we're going to tell you that you don't need it.

(1)My tpms sensors broke off the stems and were rolling around in 3 tires. Still read psi and still held air. Took them out and (in a video) put all 4 in a $5 junkyard wheel and tire. Hit tpms reset. Read 35 psi in all 4 tires even though all in one tire. Toyota said was impossible until they saw the video. I actually gave them the tire with the sensors inside.
(2)Front end creaked and squeaked like a 1972 Ford Maverick with dried up control arm bushings. Dealer removed my SWAY BAR and greased those bushings. An hour later squeaked again. Toyota said they fixed it. My videos proved otherwise. Those body bushings were bad in many 2nd gen trucks too.
(3)Nothing could cause the grease smear on my glass from manufacturing. Removed door panel. Found nothing. Next window movement the grease was back. What do you know. There was window motor gear grease embedded in the felt inside the door.
(4)Was told there was no such thing as random resets to odometer trip meter. Found several on TW with same issue. Was emailed receipts from members showing same issue and clusters replaced including dealer names, vins and dates. Corporate agreed to replace.
(5)Entune would randomly reboot numerous times a day. No updates available per dealer. Corporate had mine updated. Zero reboots since.
(6)Speakers. My entune premium sounded sub-par. Replaced all 6 with Kickers April 2017. The factory speakers are the cheapest, lightest speakers I have seen since the under dash ones in AM radios back in the 1970's. Now entune premium has premium sound.

Not hijacking thread, I have a couple things, Today while getting the leaking 3rd light replaced, they also installed 0062-18 TSB. The 30 mile trip home thru lots of curves and hills, was like I would expect it to be. Very noticeable improvement in shifting up and down.
Now 2nd thing. I am Back here in Ky , but I am heading to Montana, then on down into Leadville, Co area. Ending up around Durango. This is a no set return date trip , a month-6 weeks should be enough. So I am heading out this weekend 8-18, 8-19. Hoping for a few suggestions of trails around Leadville

Got mine done today during my 20K mile service. I told the service mgr that I had been to Colorado Springs to visit my sister, and it ran like shit. Paperwork shows the TSB and EG1811, but no sticker. I can't say that I had any real WOW, THIS IS A NEW TRUCK moments. I drove about 20 miles with maybe 5 miles on the freeway. I was in Drive the whole way to test it. However, I really don't have much of a baseline for comparison that I can remember due to the fact that I had been a ECT ON 100% driver from shortly after buying it. I think maybe the throttle did have more response on the freeway. I also didn't have any throttle delay from stops in town, so I guess it's working. Just not super impressed so far. Maybe it's learning? I did note that the paperwork shows only One Mile difference between arrival and picking it up, so they did not take it for a test drive as per the TSB instructions. I believe every dealer should put that sticker on the truck when the TSB is completed. Also, I wonder if there's a way to scan using the OBD or other test to verify it had been done?

Got mine done today. In at 1 and out the door with the update 20 minutes later. Can attest to the shifts feel smoother and also more power with less pedal. Gets rid of the dead spot for my truck. Only drove around for a few miles but almost feels like ECT is on.
