This is correct 58 is only 2016 and 2017. 62-18 includes the 2018's in the same calibration file.

They must of updated it then. Original one only did 2016 and 17's it dont matter either way is the same calibration file.

That's not correct. I have an 18 built in February. I just had mine done and got the 58 tsb. I was told that by my Vin when entered that is what was required, he just cannot manually enter the 62 tsb. I have learned that they are the same. My 18 had an issue a few times 40 to 50 mph hunting for geats, surge or whstever it called. It wasn't really an issue until I saw this post. Fixed and it runs, shifts and night and day difference.

Guess you don’t need the update then....I specifically said I was never able to do this before.

I believe it based on your Vin number. Some get the 58 and some get the 62. Some get both.

I wonder if the ppl that traded their vehicles in after owning them for a year or two are kicking themselves after reading all of the positive reviews of the ECU reflash

The 58 is what they called out when they did mine and it’s an 18... I believe the software update is the same no matter which tsb they cite as their reason for installing it... could be mistaken.

I’m heading to dealership tomorrow morning so wish me luck.

Sounds like some guys get the update no questions asked and the other dealerships are a PITA.

Call corporate and complain that the dealership won’t do it unless you pay them. Your dealership will be a lot more accommodating within 25-48 hours.

For the people that are confused about 62 vs 58.......

They both apply to all year models to include 2018s.
They both apply the exact same software update for the ECU.

They are simply two different T-SBs pertaining to two different problems. They use the same new ECU calibration to remedy both known issues. If you are in a low altitude area and are getting pushback about T-SB-0062-18 simply state the problems listed in T-SB-0058-18 to receive the exact same software update.

Here are .pdf files of each one. There has been a revision to T-SB-0058-18 to include 2018 models. I personally had 58-18 applied to my 2018 TRD OR and received cal ID 8966304A6100.

My dealership sucks ass! Unfortunately it's the only Toyota dealer within reason. I've been in contact with corporate multiple times about this dealership and their way of doing things and giving me the run around. Granted after I contact corporate, they are always willing to do what I have asked them the first go along with telling me I don't need to contact corporate. As I would imagine that conversation doesn't go to good for them. Fact of the matter is I shouldn't have to call corporate for things. In my 35,836 miles this has been my worst experience of owning a new rig. You would think the loyalty of buying at 1 dealership would help with something, bought new 07 FJ, 2011 Tacoma and my 16. Honestly with all of the grimlens and shitty dealer this will be my LAST Toyota vehicle.

Told my pops about this ecu update. he went to the dealer and had it done, for a man who typically just gets in his trucks and goes without much care to how it drives, he told me its night and day difference.... for him to say that, toyota musta done something right. (hes got a 2016 TRD OR prerunner)

Has anyone gotten this done on a manual tranny? If so what effect? Any issues with dealership refusal due to non-automatic transmission?

**Update....after having the TSB applied about two weeks ago and taking a trip to Maine up and down many hills for 746 miles round trip it was a noticeable improvement in my 2018 TRD OR.
