Got it. Responded. Good luck. Post (or PM) any problems, TW members are very helpful. There's not much TW hasn't experienced or seen.

This is what I had applied with 300 on the OD and I am at 2,500 on the OD and it resolved the issue. What it will not fix is the fact that most Japanese engines are developed with higher HP and not torque.

Call corporate and open up a case with them. You'll be assigned a case manager. Telephone 800-331-4331. Don't give up. Go back to the dealer and tell them something needs to be done because your driving experience is miserable. Repeat as necessary.

But for sure open a case. That's how they will know that we are having issues (they already know, but do it anyway). There is strength in numbers.

How do we verify which version of TSB was applied? I do intend to take the T-SB-0062-18 printed to them.

It will read out on the Service Dept Print Out as T-SB-0062-18 and I had no trouble having it applied even though my Tacoma was only 3 weeks old. Told them I had taken a trip and experienced the shift hunting on any kind of incline and lack of power from 1st gear on. Do take the TSB with you and show them.

Just came back from the dealership. Took the printed ts-b-0062-18. The fromt service guy said to talk to the business etcc... office. Went there and setup appt. for a moment i was explaining too much to the girl there lol.... then i realized she was not refusing Haha!

I also asked her if she can put tsb 0062-18 on the work note which she did. So tomo it is then! I guess going there i was ready to argue etc based on refusal by some dealership posted on TW and my own experience when i called on this matter last yr when the lady said my truck doesnt need it. Doesnt show on her comp that my tryck qualifies etc....

Alright then tomo is the day!

I have an SR 4x4 born 5/18, had all the same issues you and a lot of others are experiencing. The dealership said they did the TSB, but they could not "replicate" and did not give me the sticker either! I can't say whether they really did it, but the driving experience post TSB was way different. The lag off the start was gone, and the twitchy shifting wasn't as bad. The power difference was most noticeable especially off the start. Seemed to want to hold gears longer as well. I brought the TSB printed out in hand and had to argue with them a little. I think when I told them my kids were in it daily and gave him the concerned "Father" stare he might of known I wasnt going to let it go. In the end, truck drives way better, worth fighting for!

I have recently had (500 miles ago) both the 58-18 and 62-18 TSB completed on my 2018 TRD Off Road and my gas mileage has dropped about 3 mpg--anyone else experience this after the TSB??

I did the same with my '17 sport DCLB 4x4 and took the 0062 tsb with me and my return paperwork says they found tsb 0077-16 and applied it. No update sticker under hood, so I have no idea if they applied the most recent calibration to my ecu. No idea why or how they decided to apply an older tsb (at least it was related to shifting issues, lol). How can I tell if it's not on the paperwork and there's no sticker? I'm heading back in in a couple days for leaf spring squeak fix and recall blower motor fix. Want to make sure I have the latest ecu flash, aside from them "telling" me it's the latest!!

The fact that so many need code readers to ensure the right TSB was applied is telling me the reported magical transformation of the truck is likely more placebo than anything. Like......shouldn’t it be obvious? :notsure:

I’m just gonna riff on my own thought a little further:

-People who know for certain they have the right TSB applied report vast improvement (mostly).

-People who don’t know for certain if they have the right TSB applied notice no obvious improvement and so begin to doubt they have the right TSB.

    ^I dunno fellas and gals.......if that isn’t classic placebo, I don’t know what is.....honestly.

I may get the update, but it will be with low expectations of changes to normal, low-altitude driving.

Also says something about the general faith of the TW community in their local service departments. No judgement here. Just an observation.

I agree with your scientific assessment in general... I contemplated that thought last week after reading a bunch on here and deciding if I was going to try the update. But I haven't claimed any, or lack of, improvement. It has seemed to help my one of multiple issues for me where the truck would really jerk into gear after coasting and then stepping on the gas below around 30 mph. Really noticeable when you "roll" stop signs and then get back on the gas. But haven't noticed obvious changes in other areas. Have driven my truck a total of about 4 miles since the update and all was in town on neighborhood streets from the dealer home. Just haven't had time to really put it through it's paces. and I think I'm the only one around here (at least recently) that has supposedly had an early '16 TSB applied to their '17 truck, just LAST WEEK. I'm not looking for a miracle cure... I don't think my shift pattern concerns are as bad as some people's by any means (some really sound like real safety issues). I just want and expect the best possible version of my $40k truck!

I have no idea if my dealer did the TSB or not. They said they did. I have no reason to doubt them. I was already pissed (understatement) about having the diff howl in a brand new truck I just drove off the lot. I doubt they'd knowingly give me something else to complain about.

That said, the dead pedal feeling (and surge) that I felt on acceleration pre-TSB was gone after the [presumably applied] TSB. And after about 2k miles, I'm starting to feel it again quite frequently. Placebo? A definite possibility. I hate this truck.

I had that exact same problem with a 2012 and a 2014. It led me to believe it was a common characteristic of the throttle mapping, perhaps in anticipation (or as a result of) mapping for empty and for carrying a load. That's something particular to trucks. We might run them empty. We might run them with a lot of weight in the back end. Pure speculation on my end. But I haven't noticed this post-tsb. And I didn't drive it enough pre-tsb to pass judgement.

You can't tell if it's installed without a code reader (obdii).

You CAN as your dealer what calibration ID shows up and have them check it.

Figured... wondering if anyone is getting the recommended sticker with all the right information as is prescribed in the TSB??

I have looked at both 0058 and 0062 (SAME calibration ID) and the old one 0077-16 they supposedly did on my truck, so I do know which calibration ID I am looking for and what one might be there if they "successfully" did the old TSB on my truck...
