The dealer was correct. There is no recall for this, the new calibration is flashed to resolve published T-SBs.

The new calibration can be obtained if any T-SB that is resolved with an ECM update is performed. That means 77-16, 58-18 and 62-18 all will provide the same update. Choose the one that best fits your situation and is the simplest to convey to the service technician.

I dropped mine off for the TSB this morning, and they just called saying they wouldn't be doing it. They told me that my VIN numbers are not a part of the TSB, and they could not duplicate the condition. Also, would not deal with vibration when braking because the rotors were still within spec. This was Toyota of Dallas, FYI. I would AVOID using them for any service work.

No, those ones he posted are not the first 5 of the vin. They are a few numbers/letters in the vin. Just an FYI so people aren’t confused.

So to make it even more simple if those combinations of letters are within you bin Toyota thinks you should get the update

Look at your entire VIN number. If you are covered by this T-SB, one of those five digit number/letter combinations will appear in your VIN in order. For example my VIN is xxxCZ5ANxxxxxxxxx and is covered.

Ha! Mine is CZ5AN as well. I called them back and they changed their story to “must be able to duplicate”. Time for a new dealership.

So just curious, out of all the many TSB - is this the highest on the priority list, how do you know what all the other TSB are and does Toyota auto do them if you take it in for service or do you have to specifically tell them to do this and that bc you feel a problem.

Cause yeah my vin is on the list and I mean I haven't notice anything crazy with my truck to where its not drivable but obvi it bogs and dogs uphill etc but just assumed bc its a baby v6 that was normal. How to I check to see if there are any other fixes TSB that I can or should do?!

I was hesitant to have the update but I'm very glad I did. Seems like it takes less pedal to get things moving. Much smoother and anecdotally, it feels more....peppy. I thought my truck was....ok, just sluggish. It is way better now.. best way to describe it is "normal "; the way it should have been from the factory.
