Prayers for you and your daughter. don't know about texas but in AZ in a domestic violence case the state steps in and prosecutes instead of needing one of the parties to. You might make sure that a restraining order is issued as well, again here in AZ it is automatic with the state taking care of it. might be something worth checking out

Thanks again to everyone. I do truly appreciate all the kind words, and prayers. I jsut want her to physically recover fully, and be strong enough to stick with pressing charges.

Thoughts and prayers are with your daughter Bill. I can't comprehend how if feel if I were in your shoes but I do agree how you are handling the situation. Hopefully you and your daughter can reconnect after this.

She has reached out and asked my oldest daughter to drive out from Abilene to come see her. Me any my oldest are solid tight. Hopefully this is a good sign because all of the family has offered to give her a place to stay so that she can get out of that town, and away from him.

Nothing new on her physical condition. Mentally she will not allow herself to be alone ANYWHERE. She insists that somebody is there at all times. She seems very scared from what I have heard. I am just glad that my oldest daughter is on her way I believe tonight to go see her.

    GOOD NEWS!!!

Just heard from my sister. My daughter has officially gone to the police department and filed a protective order against him, as well as made a formal aggravated assault charge and completed her legal statement. A warrant is going to be signed for him later today, and he will be arrested. Since he is on probation already for drug charges the DA is reasonably confident that not only will he have his probation revoked on THAT, but that they may get the assault charges, as a totally separate case, stacking his time. Karma is a BITCH.

Courtney (my daughter) said she is confident that "if he did it once, he will do it again, and I might not be so lucky next time." Also she has said that she is not going to run away. She has friends, family, and a good job there, and is not going to tuck tail and run. She is going to stand her ground. I am so proud of my daughter right now! :D

I am sickened by this; I have two daughters of my own and cannot imagine what you are going through right now.

So so sorry to hear this and just really hope that your daughter is strong enough mentally to follow through with pressing charges.

As father it’s very easy for us to say we would seriously hurt or even kill the man that physically harms our daughter, but the reality of it is this is not a solution and won’t fix a thing. What you are doing, holding back and letting the authorities handle this, is the right thing to do and in the end will bring this man a lot more pain than just a Daddy beat down.

Again just so sorry to hear this and I wish your daughter a speedy recovery.

As for you, stay strong because you are doing the right thing. I know you already understand this, but it helps to hear it.

Good to hear the update. Now she needs to get away and get healed up. Sounds like she is going to be on a better path now.

Great news to hear, all around! This may be a moot point by now. But is she old enough to have a gun? This is great reason to have a personal carry weapon on her just in case he decides to get ballsy and come near her again.

Fuck that pos dbag. As a father of two (girl = 7 / boy is 14mos) I envy you for restraining yourself. Little shit bags like him can pound sand all the way back to Saudi Arabia, then be beaten like a prisoner. Fuck him and the train he rode on, pos.

And I would tell you the same thing I have told everyone else: What good would you do your daughter then, with you in prison? That is the sole reason I chose NOT to go take care of it. I can't help her out if I am in prison.

As far as I know she is doing well. As I mentioned, she and I have had a bit of a falling out the past several months. My sister has been keeping me updated and she is doing better. I am not sure the status on HIM yet, but when I know something I will post it up.

Thanks for all the kind words everyone.

I agree with bama. It's easy to get cocky and say we'd hurt the punk but what we would really do when it was our turn to go to bat might be another thing. Hopefully the daughter is able to get on with her life and live better for it.
