Damn, never thought I would be in this section....Sometimes life just isnt fair is it!?!? It angers me, it saddens me, it wants to break me. I cant imagine what my buddy is going thru. He just sent me a text yesterday saying his son has been diagnosed with leukemia after having a seizure last week. Chemo starts Monday. I havent been able to talk to my buddy yet, Im hoping we speak this weekend. Anyways, Robert, or as I call him, Bobby, will be turning 4 next month. My buddy and I go way back since we were about 5 years old. 20 years later, our girlfriends get pregnant the same year and we both become fathers a couple of months apart. Our boys play together just like Valentine and I did 24 years ago. It hurts to see my close friend go thru this. Please send prayers for this little guy and his family. He is such a good boy and has an incredible little smile. I introduced this kid to offroading, and now he loves it!

 :( All sorts of emotions right now

I will keep eveyone posted. We will win this! I know we will!!!

Bobby on the right in the first pic, dont mind my crazy son on the left

    EDIT: From PG 3

In three weeks, I will watch as the night sky is illuminatedwith thousands of twinkling lanterns to symbolically light the dark world of cancer. As a participant in The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Light The Night Walk,I am striving to raise awareness about blood cancers and raise vital funds tofight these diseases.

Please consider helping me reach my goal of $100 (or more!)before the Walk on November 1st by making an online donation todayat http://pages.lightthenight.org/sac/Sacra14/fsoria.

There are a few reasons I hope you’ll join me insupporting The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS):

    · Over 78% of the funds raised through LLS godirectly to research and patient services.

    · LLS has invested over $1 billion dollars incancer research since 1949 and has helped fund some of the most keyadvancements in cancer treatment.

    · Your donation helps LLS provide financialassistance to cover patient expenses for transportation, medication, andtesting, as well as free educational materials and events, and family supportgroups

Please help me reach my goal and fund a cure by making a tax-deductibledonation today. Thank you for your support! If you can’t donate, pleasesend a quick prayer over to Bobby!

    WE WILL BEAT THIS!!!!!

So sorry and my prayers go out to his family that the little guy gets through this. Bad enough when it is a adult but just heart wrenching when it is a child.

With such a long term friendship...now is the time your buddy needs you the most. Even if only to walk by his side in silence, love and respect! Sometimes just being there with a friendly hug, your presence can say a lot.

Don't wait to be asked to help, perhaps one can mow his lawn, assist with the grocery shopping, offer to help provide rides to and fro the doctors-hospitals, assist with cooking meals, launder clothes. Times such as these make even the most mundane daily chores insurmountable .. this is where friends step up and help shoulder some of the burdens. God bless you brother and this family!

The lyrics and this song say it best!---> "He's not heavy, He's my brother"!
