My thoughts exactly. Toyota spends a lot of money on R&D and these trucks are designed and optimized to operate with factory equipped parts. Just about anything aftermarket is a risk that must be accepted. I bought my truck brand new; full factory warranty. I had a 3" lift and 33" tires on it within about two months after purchase. I knew full well that any warranty claim(s) I might have were probably gonna be out the window when I modded it. I accepted the risk. But that's why I bought a Tacoma and not any other truck, because I knew it would most likely last well beyond the factory warranty anyway before I had any issues. Here I am over eight years later and still have yet to have a problem with it [knock on wood]. IMO Toyota's warranty sucks anyway. For such a famously reliable brand, you would think their warranty would be closer to or better than what Hyundai offers. Just my four cents.

Glad to hear it was covered though. Congrats!

Glad it all worked out for you. That would have been one expensive repair.

Toyota has gotten like most domestics as far as warranties. They were far above the rest during the last century. I keep hearing from them...''they can no longer give the store away.''

Great news! The truck is back in my possession. Toyota flushed the trans cooler but didn’t replace it. Seems to be driving fine. If ever given the chance when purchasing a new vehicle in pleased with the golden eagle plan I bought. $100 deductible is much better than what it could’ve cost.
