Look at the dimensions. I think the rs is wider and the older version

Look at the pics...its 22" wide vs the 21" of the xrs, and the rs is 4" shorter on the back seat. Im 6'1 and i need more than the 35" tall back of the xrs. So if your short its cool.

So I finally got some time to work on the truck. Work has had me traveling a ton, and the weekends I either was working on house stuff n surfing, or wheeling the truck. I didnt wanna tear into it yet...but a trip got put off and I figured with the out of town every week nearing an end, I took my front coil overs off for another retune. I also was going to switch out the top hats and add reservoirs. This was supposed to be done 3 months ago but life and work sometimes get in the way. So with the help of a good friend, I again began to learn more about my shocks and how to dismantle them and putting them all back together. This time with a bit of an upgrade that luckily became more cost effective than it could have been. My last retune was partially successful. The rebound stack was working perfect, but compression was too stiff with the new stack I put in. So I went back to the Icon OEM compression shim stack. And I lessened the preload of the coils to soften things up. We also are going to play around with psi to see how that affects things. With that plan in place the truck went up on jack stands, and then removed the shocks. BBAE98F6-5F3F-4627-8CB7-05CAD347B8FD.jpg

I didnt take too many photos of the process cause my hands were pretty quickly covered in oil and Im not trying to do a write up. With the coils off, I unscrewed the cap for the bearing, then release the nitrogen, and learned a trick to not volcanoe the oil out of the shock. No oil bath this time! With some heat, the right tool, and my bro's experience the top hats came off. I now know why Icon seemed so skeptical of me accomplishing this. Without that tool this would be impossible.0BD71573-4132-443B-8581-5B6971ECA492.jpg

Everything went super smooth and again I measured the shims to ensure it was documented. A1DE16B4-BFA5-4C74-857D-85FE13D5D806.jpg Once finished I was looking at my lower shock mount bearing, and it was pretty shot. The old top hat bearings were still in good shape, so I grabbed a c clamp and a couple sockets and pressed em out, then into the lower mounts. Im headed out of town again this week, so when the coils go back on, I will put the shocks back on, and mount the resis. Then go wheeling most likely the next day, or the next weekend worst case scenario, as Ill be intching to see how these work.

Nice work! Where did you get the remote reservoirs and shims from?

Shims came from Icon, theyre not very expensive, i just put the old comp stack that they came with back in, cause I wanna see how it helps. But they gave me the recs for the stacks I put in. I have a feeling no matter what I do the 700# springs are not gonna be managable, and Ill be getting 14" 650s
