That intake sucks . I mean that in the best way possible. Also while I'm at it, your exhaust system blows.

Looks good, although why'd you drop all that money on the ARB when the knockoff version is virtually identical and so much cheaper! :smack: just yanking your chain (kind of)

Since I put mine on, I notice the filter does stay a lot cleaner in general unless you're bombing through water/mud pits that send sheets of water up into the snorkel intake...then the filter gets nasty right quick. Turning the head around works well if you're expecting that to happen.

Also I tend to find random stuff on the filter every now and then...leaves, sticks, bees, even had a live butterfly stuck to it recently.

But if you're driving on or following someone on a dusty trail the filter stays a lot cleaner than it did with the stock intake.

When I saw someone got rat shit in theirs I decided not to go for the cheaper version...lol Im sure they will work just fine, just didnt trust the inconsistencies I saw from the thread and would rather get the safari.

A butter fly lol, well good to hear and yeah arb recommends turning the snorkel backwards in the rain. Dont see why it wouldnt be good for puddle jumping lol.

Yeah I was kind of surprised to hear that...I wonder if maybe they're falling behind on QC a bit now that it's gotten so popular, I was in on the first batch of 10 that were on eBay but it blew up in popularity really quickly after that first batch sold out.

yeah I turn the head backwards if it's a wet/muddy trail now, but you don't want to leave it backwards on the street...there's a neat little ARB article on the 'air ram' effect of the snorkel and having the head backwards at speeds of over 45mph has a considerable negative effect on air intake for the engine. But on the trail going slow it isn't an issue

It's not my thing Tim, but the goal is better functionality and it should accomplish that no problem. We'll save the elephant references for the brewery meet.

And that could be bad with the S/C.

As long as you have the air filter in nothing will get through...but yeah if you had it out for some reason I dont think the supercharger would like having mud and butterflies run through it lol.

My pinging issues have been next to nil since I installed mine, I don't know if it's the cooler air or better air flow or some combo of the two, but I rarely hear any pinging anymore under any circumstances

I was referring to having the head pointed backwards.

Ah gotcha...yea The ARB article was saying how it wouldn't be good for an N/A engine so definitely even more so if you're boosted.

Although I did have it pointed backward once up in Big Bear and with the window down and the head pointed toward the cab, you can really hear the supercharger scream lol.

I feel like its conflicting information though. I read the article youre referring to, and also watched a video on ARB's website saying that turning the intake backwards was totally ok for all aplications. I think you'll be fine. You will know right away if it starts choking out your engine lol.

Ended up taking the weekend to go camp and explore some places. We started out way south and went through a ton of different areas to end up in the southern socal mtn range. Ive haven't done much exploring out there but it was a lot of fun seeing new places with great views that really aren't too far away. @Tombiology70 and myself started off on friday, and met up with @erice @AY_ARONTRD n bunch of friends to help celebrate a bday and polish off some tequila lol

We were on thomas mtn. Theres lots of trails around but not really on that mtn. Just super scenic. I will definitely go back. Great place to just get away, and its not too far. The better places in idyllwild is all shut down cause of wash outs from the bad storms this winter

So I added a pretty crucial and difficult mod...after long strenuous thought of location and stress, blood, sweat, and tears. I added one of these puppies...and after testing it out yesterday it works awesome!

Can you find it? And yes Im still rocking the stock stereo, that literally is on its last legs lol

Is it that thing on your passenger airbag switch? What is that?

I'm still rocking the stock stereo and speakers as well lol. One of these days I'll upgrade but it's at the bottom of the list
