Sorry guys, add another one to the list. I've searched and read for a while now and I need a solid answer for my setup. I need new tires ASAP. Full 3" OME, LR UCA's, stock trd offroad wheels. Currently have 265s with spidertrax 1.25 spacers. I want to go up to the 285s.

From my understanding...without spacers on these stock wheels, the tire will be really close, if not rubbing, the UCA. I remember when I installed my lift and uca's how close the 265s were to rubbing, and being really glad I got the spidertrax beforehand.

I've also read that the 1.25" spacers with the 285s will only make the rubbing issues worse, only this time it'll be rubbing the frame and fender. I understand the logic behind it.

I need to know ahead of time which option (spacers vs no spacers) will give me which rubbing issues and to what degree. This is my daily driver, so if I have to do some serious cutting (cab mount chop), I want to have the time set aside for that and/or help from a buddy lined up as soon as possible, do it right the first time, and be back on the road rub-free.

Minor trimming of the fender and pinch weld mod is fine, should be no problem, its the cmc that has me a little worried since i dont have all the tools needed for the job immediately on-hand.

I already feel like the 285s without the wheel spacers will be too close for comfort to the uca, so I guess my bottom line question is: will I need to do the CMC with my setup and wheel spacers? Thanks in advance.

No you won't need the cmc for your DD. I've ran 285/70/17duratracs with spidertrax spacers and just had to trim the bottom of the fender flare. When I ran 33/12.5/17's I had to trim more and for DD'ing I didn't rub when I went wheeling I rubbed and I do need to do the cmc. Now I'm back to 285/75/16 duratracs on stock trd OR's and spidertraxs. I haven't rubbed yet but still will be doing the cmc when I get time.
