Weird, it's like taking something apart and ending up with extra screws haha. Did your kit come with a "factory headlight" input connector? You know what.... I think the difference is I got the relay kit, I'm assuming you didn't?

Yeah! I went with no relay. That must be why yours works since you’re hardwired to the battery?! Hahaha mystery solved

You have to pull the light apart and main thing replacing the projector for me to consider it a retrofit. Some times we just pull them apart to paint but that's no fun :(

Thank you!!! I pretty much figured it out last night, but haven't installed them. Those pictures just reassured me I did it right!

I hacked together a tray, so not quite to the battery. But yeah, my harness came with a factory input with adapter. Just had to unplug the driver side low beam and plug it straight into the relay. Then I pulled both of those extra oranges.

Hey guys I opened up my box today put everything together and went out to my truck to see if I could fit my fat hands behind everything and I could.... so I come and get everything and take out the bulbs and one of them has a crack what can I do?? They got a little dirty from my fingers. I was hoping to install today but looks like it’s going to have to be put off

I'm fairly certain you're not supposed to touch those with your bare hands? At least that's how the older bulbs used to be. The oil from your hands would ruin the bulbs when they got hot.

I woke up early today due to this cool weather, and plugged everything in and turned them on to make sure I connected everything correctly and they turned on. But after I shut off the switch I smelt like if something was burning around me, and there couldn’t be anything because it was an enclosed garage. So just to be one the safe side and too soothe my OCD it would be nice if I could get a replacement done.

I install the 35w 5500 hid kit on my SR. The factory lights draw 13.5 amps, all exterior lights, with the Hids amp draw is 12.0. 5.0 amp draw at halogen vs 4.2 with Hid. The light output is a great improvement over stock and the lower amp draw is a bonus too. I mounted the ballast using 1/4 steel ribbed nut serts. The factory sheet metal on the inner fenders and the radiator support is the thinnest factor sheet metal I have drilled through yet. I installed the factory plug 180 degrees to the match polarity of ballast, once I connect the harness this will be corrected. I could not detect an increased amp draw on my meter at ballast start up. Only the drivers side hid is installed in the first two pics.

    Thanks for the Hids!

Which wiring diagram did you follow? I've printed off several from morimoto's site, but none seem to match what I got. I have the same setup with harness as you.

Looks like he plugged oem bulb socket into the ballast. I also got a relay but plugged my oem bulb socket into the relay.

I need to dig into mine more. Unfortunately my patience for working on my lights outside right now since its like 15 degrees has reached "Fuck this" status.

I didn’t follow any. I just looked at the ballast and went from there. I think he sell two different kits. I ordered the harness with relays, so there was no jumper wire to go in between the ballast and oem harness, I was supposed to use the supplied extra harness with relays.
